A bumper year for Magic Moments

A HUGE THANK YOU to employees across the group for a fantastic, record breaking year for our charity Magic Moments.  More children have benefitted than ever before. One family, just back from Disneyland Paris with their terminally ill little girl, summed it up: memories to last a lifetime.”

Jonathan Martin, one of the charity’s Trustees and our Operations Manager to the Chief Executive, has accompanied past visits.  He echoes the emotion: “To call the experience moving is an understatement.”

The cost of 200 guests for four days and three nights at Disneyland Paris this year was £87,000. The trip comprised four families nominated by each of the 12 children’s hospices we support in England and Wales.

“Typically it is mum, dad, the child and his or her brothers and sisters,” says Jonathan. "We also include recently bereaved families and provide euros for spending money. Many mums and dads are often not working, instead living ‘the hospice life’ so it really makes a difference.”

A handful of Group employees are chosen to attend, all nominated for their fundraising efforts during the year.
